East Kilbride, a new town near Glasgow in Scotland, is the birthplace of 80s noise-pop band The Jesus & Mary Chain. That's where core members Jim and William Reid are from - forming in 1984 along with Bobby Gillespie (who went on to front Primal Scream) on drums.
