I as a person

In this time of inexorable decline
a spreading fear is being concealed by indifference.
In such a chaotic time, such a corrupted chaotic time
that anything could happen to us at this very moment.
In this shattered, absurd time
in which we have so much information
that, after all, we know nothing.

In this terrible, terrible time, anywhere in the world.

In this time in which the western dreams is failing
In this moment of most complete triumph
In this time in which millions of people
are killing one another
and we can’t seem to find a reason.
Why?

I as a man or woman
who can’t feel any urge no more
who doesn’t understand
who can’t assess or believe anything
who witness it all
Supposing I have never made my choice,
I have never made my choice,
I have never made my choice …

In this time
In this time in which everything is overwhelming us,
in which decisions are made without our consent.
In this time in which our only involvement,
Actually our true fault, lies just in giving our votes.
In this time
In this time in which there’s no possible way out for us
In which fate or maybe somebody holds our lives in their palm.

In this time, terrible time
In this time, terrible time, anywhere in the world.

I as a person, I stand
With my inner feelings
With all those hopes, all those goals that seldom have I achieved
With my faith that is wasting away
feeling dazed and spent, with dismay at my powerlessness
feeling confused and empty,
who am I resigning myself to never make my choice,
to never make my choice,
to never make my choice …

In such a terrible time we drift away from the world, not with arrogance but rather with the pain of defeated men who can live inside the world, a little world of their own. But this kind of salvation, this personal salvation, you know, is not, is not enough for anybody. And our defeat is exactly this, that we do, want to do something while we know full well we can do nothing.
