Sepultura è una band heavy metal brasiliana formatasi a Belo Horizonte nel 1984. Considerati pionieri del thrash metal latinoamericano, hanno raggiunto fama internazionale negli anni '90 grazie all'album *Roots* (1996), che ha introdotto elementi di musica tradizionale brasiliana e tribali. Il gruppo è noto per la sua energia live, le performance teatrali e i testi politici e sociali. I membri fondatori sono Max Cavalera (voce, chitarra) e Igor Cavalera (batteria). Nel 2006 Max Cavalera ha lasciato il gruppo per dedicarsi a progetti solisti. La band continua ad essere attiva con Andreas Kisser alla voce e chitarre. Tra i brani più rappresentativi: *Roots Bloody Roots*, *Arise*, *Refuse/Resist*.
