Jawbreaker è stata una band punk americana proveniente da San Francisco, California, attiva dal 1988 al 1996. I membri Blake Schwarzenbach (voce e chitarra), Adam Pfahler (chitarra) e Chris Bauermeister (basso) si sono conosciuti a Los Angeles, dove hanno frequentato la stessa scuola superiore, e poi a New York City, all'università. La band ha sempre mantenuto un forte spirito DIY, gestendo autonomamente la propria attività. Jawbreaker è considerata una delle band più influenti del movimento emo-punk degli anni '90, grazie al loro sound caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e un'energia live intensa. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Save Your Generation", "The Boat Shows", e "Condition Oakland". L'album "24 Hour Revenge Therapy" (1994) è considerato uno dei capolavori del genere emo-punk.
