The British indie-rock band Kooks were formed in 2004 by guitarist Luke Pritchard and bassist Max Rafferty, joined by drummer Paul Garred and guitarist Hugh Harris. They earned a contract with Virgin Records on the basis of their debut EP. Their first long-player for the label, Inside In/Inside Out, was a huge hit for the band, eventually going triple-platinum. The album was helped up the charts by "She Moves in Her Own Way" and "Naïve". Their success earned them a nomination for best new band at the BRIT awards. They are currently working on their next album.
