Jovanotti, nome d'arte di Lorenzo Cherubini (Roma, 27 settembre 1966), è un cantautore italiano considerato uno dei più influenti della scena musicale italiana contemporanea. Il suo percorso artistico inizia negli anni '80, lanciato da Claudio Cecchetto e caratterizzato da una commistione di rap e world music, sempre interpretata in chiave hip hop e funky. Nel corso degli anni, Jovanotti ha progressivamente evoluto il suo stile musicale, avvicinandosi al cantautorato italiano con testi che affrontano temi filosofici, religiosi e politici. Parallelamente alla sua carriera musicale, Jovanotti si è distinto per un forte impegno sociale e politico. Pacifista convinto, ha collaborato con organizzazioni come Emergency, Amnesty International, Lega Anti Vivisezione (LAV), Nigrizia e Data. Ha partecipato a manifestazioni contro il debito pubblico negli anni '90 e ai movimenti Niente Scuse e Make Poverty History, prendendo parte al Live8. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi figurano "La Mia Ragazza", "Senza Paura", "Il Postino", "Ragazzo di Mare" e "L'Essenziale".
