Owl City ist ein amerikanisches Indie-/Synth-Pop-Musikprojekt, das von Adam Young 2007 gegründet wurde. Zunächst als unabhängiger Künstler tätig, veröffentlichte er zwei Alben, bevor er bei Republic Records unterschrieb. Der Durchbruch gelang 2009 mit dem Debütalbum *Ocean Eyes*, das dank des Singles *Fireflies* international erfolgreich war. Der Song wurde zum globalen Phänomen und sicherte Owl City vier Platin-Zertifizierungen in den USA. *Ocean Eyes* wurde im April 2010 in den USA mit Platin ausgezeichnet. Zu seinen späteren Alben gehören *All Things Bright and Beautiful* (2011) und *Mobile Orchestra* (2015).
