hellogoodbye was started in 2001 by Forrest Kline, who began recording synth-based power pop in his bedroom. He was soon joined by Jesse Kurvink. The music they made finally found its way onto a fan-assembled EP The Parachute. Their fanbase was such that they began to tour on the basis of internet appeal without having released a studio album.
