Therion è un gruppo musicale svedese fondato nel 1987 a Väsby, vicino a Stoccolma. Considerati pionieri del symphonic metal, hanno attraversato diverse fasi stilistiche, dal black metal iniziale al progressive metal, incorporando elementi classici, orchestrali e persino folk nella loro musica. Il gruppo è noto per le sue performance live epico-drammatiche e per l'utilizzo di un ampio range di strumenti, tra cui cori, archi e tastiere. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "To Mega Therion", "Theli" e "Cult of Fire".
