Borknagar è una band norvegese di black metal progressivo proveniente da Bergen. Fondata nel 1995 da Øystein Garnes Brun, il gruppo ha saputo combinare elementi di folk metal, black metal, progressive e melodici per creare un sound unico. Le liriche di Borknagar spesso esplorano temi filosofici, paganesimo, natura e cosmo. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Olden Days", "The Spiral Staircase" e "False Light".
