Korn ist eine amerikanische Nu-Metal-Band, die 1993 in Bakersfield, Kalifornien, gegründet wurde. Als Pioniere des Nu-Metals haben sie die Musikszene der 1990er und 2000er Jahre maßgeblich beeinflusst. Ihr charakteristischer Sound kombiniert Elemente aus Heavy Metal, Funk, Hip Hop und Industrial mit oft introvertierten und düsteren Texten, die Themen wie Schmerz, Depression und soziale Isolation behandeln. Die ursprüngliche Besetzung bestand aus Jonathan Davis (Gesang), James "Munky" Shaffer (Gitarre), Brian "Head" Welch (Gitarre), Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu (Bass) und David Silveria (Schlagzeug). Nach dem Erfolg ihres selbstbetitelten Debütalbums im Jahr 1994 veröffentlichte Korn eine Reihe von äußerst erfolgreichen Alben, darunter *Life is Peachy* (1996), *Follow the Leader* (1998) und *Issues* (1999).
