Biografia

The Flaming Lips sono un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi ad Oklahoma City nel 1983. Il sound del gruppo, caratterizzato da una fusione di alternative rock, psichedelia e pop, è stato fin dall'inizio guidato dalla personalità carismatica del cantante Wayne Coyne. Negli anni '90 hanno raggiunto un successo commerciale con il singolo "She Don't Use Jelly", che ha dimostrato la loro capacità di mescolare elementi pop a sonorità più sperimentali. L'album *The Soft Bulletin* (1999) è considerato uno dei capolavori del decennio, ispirato da *Pet Sounds* dei Beach Boys e caratterizzato da arrangiamenti complessi e testi poetici. Il loro album successivo, *Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots* (2002), ha riscosso un grande successo di critica e commerciale, diventando il loro disco più venduto. I Flaming Lips sono noti anche per i loro spettacoli dal vivo, caratterizzati da scenografie elaborate, costumi eccentrici e l'utilizzo di effetti speciali come video, luci e coriandoli.
