Tristania è stata una band di gothic metal norvegese attiva dal 1996 al 2022. Fondata da Morten Veland, Einar Moen e Kenneth Ølsson, il gruppo ha raggiunto un notevole successo internazionale grazie a un sound caratterizzato da atmosfere dark e melodie sinfoniche, con influenze del doom metal e dell'opera. Il loro stile musicale è evoluto nel corso degli anni, passando da sonorità più pesanti a un approccio più melodicamente orientato. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Midnattstemme", "The Waking Hour" e "Gothic Romance".
