Sonic Youth è stato un gruppo alternative/noise rock statunitense formatosi nel 1981 a New York. La band, composta da Kim Gordon (basso, voce), Thurston Moore (chitarra, voce), Lee Ranaldo (chitarra, voce) e Steve Shelley (batteria), ha rivoluzionato il panorama musicale degli anni '80 e '90 con un sound sperimentale che mescolava elementi di punk rock, noise, avant-garde e musica elettronica.
