Mastodon are a rock band formed in 1999 in Georgia by drummer Brann Dailor and guitarist Bill Kelliher and completed by bassist Troy Sanders and guitarist Brent Hinds. They released their first album Remission in 2002, although it was their 2004 release Leviathan that brought the band widespread critical acclaim, with Album of the Year awards from Kerrang and Metal Hammer.
