Embrace the shame
Accept the blame
Image defamed
It's far too gone to ever be the same

It's not the victory we need
It's not the m?rcy that we seek
It's not the punishment that brings us to our knees again
Our souls ar? torn our blood runs deep
Our hands were tied, our tongues cut from our mouths when we were young
The sins we cast the stones we've thrown over and over and over and over again
With every ounce of retribution
We manifest the pride we glamorize the vengeance

The sacrifice belies the monotony
As the doldrums of privilege set in

Nearly gone now, to the memory of time

Year after year, desensitized
All empathy's been paralyzed
The final calm before the storm
Before their boots kick in your door

All that you've ever known
All that you've never shown

All that you ever loved

Gone replaced and numb

All that you ever feared
No time, no place, no care, nowhere
Became all that was ever near

Feel the fading life
Feed into its horror
