Himsa è stata una band americana di metalcore/melodic death metal proveniente da Seattle, Washington. Il nome Himsa deriva dalla parola Ahimsa, che in sanscrito significa «astenersi dal causare il male». La rimozione dell'«A» dà alla parola il significato opposto. Himsa significa letteralmente «violenza» in sanscrito, hindi e altre lingue indiane come gujarati, marathi, telugu e tamil. Attiva tra la fine degli anni '90 e l'inizio del nuovo millennio, la band ha pubblicato tre album in studio: *The Gnosis* (1998), *Resolution* (2000) e *Spit* (2001).
