I Velvet Underground sono stati una band rock statunitense di grande influenza, attivi dal 1964 al 1973. Fondati a New York da Lou Reed (voce, chitarra), John Cale (violoncello, tastiere), Sterling Morrison (chitarra) e Maureen Tucker (batteria), il gruppo è noto per aver introdotto elementi sperimentali nel rock, influenzando generi come il punk, l'indie e la musica elettronica.
