English musician and producer Alan Parsons enjoyed a brief solo career, and fronted a group called the Alan Parsons Project. But he is still probably best known as the studio engineer on Pink Floyd's seminal prog-rock album The Dark Side Of The Moon. That record, released in 1973, became one of the biggest selling albums of all-time, spending an incredible 741 consecutive weeks (over 14 years) in the American Billboard 200 Album chart. It was also hugely critically acclaimed and is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock albums ever. He also worked in the studio, in a similar role as a producer, for albums by The Beatles, Paul McCartney, The Hollies and Al Stewart.
