Indie-rock band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! (abbreviated to CYHSY) are most notable for the way they achieved fame: they were one of the first bands to really benefit from music blogger hype. That led to the attention of taste-making website Pitchfork Media, who gave their debut self-titled album a good review and caused the band all manner of distribution problems. Without a record deal, they had to organise the manufacture and supply of the album themselves.
