Neal Morse ist ein amerikanischer Musiker von internationalem Ruf, der vor allem für seine Arbeit im Progressive Rock bekannt ist. Geboren 1964, begann er seine musikalische Karriere in den 1980er Jahren mit der Band Spock's Beard, die er zusammen mit dem Gitarristen Dave Meros gründete. Mit Spock's Beard hat Morse dazu beigetragen, einen neuen progressiven Sound zu definieren, der sich durch komplexe Melodien, poetische Texte und einen starken Jazz-Einfluss auszeichnet. Neben seiner Arbeit mit Spock's Beard ist Morse auch Mitglied der Supergruppen Transatlantic und Flying Colors, die mit einigen der größten Namen des Progressive Rocks weltweit zusammenarbeiten, wie z. B. Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt und Steve Hackett. Morse ist ein talentierter Multiinstrumentalist, aber sein Hauptinstrument ist das Klavier. Seine virtuose Technik und seine Fähigkeit, eingängige Melodien zu komponieren, haben ihn zu einem der beliebtesten Künstler im modernen Progressive Rock gemacht.
