If it feels like forever ago, that's because it was
Before the evergreens got caught by the frost
I don't feel the need to finish bad books anymore
Do you still feel the need to keep on keeping score?
And hang your pain over your chest
Like a ball and chain on a Kevlar vest
All the grace you don't think you need
Is all the grace I'm willing to bleed
Well, the light's on, baby, come and be my guest
I can see it in your eyes, there's no need to confess
All the love I know that you need
Is all the love I'm willing to bleed for you
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh
If it feels like forever ago, that's because it was
Before what we should've said got covered in dust
I don't feel the need to fake it anymore
Do you feel that we are still worth fighting for?
And hang your pain over your chest
Like a ball and chain on a Kevlar vest
All the grace you don't think you need
Is all the grace I'm willing to bleed
Well, the light's on, baby, come and be my guest
I can see it in your eyes, there's no need to confess
All the love I know that you need
Is all the love I'm willing to bleed for you
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Maybe nothing changes 'less you name it
It's just who we are, who we are, who we are
Made in closest strangers or abstain
We're stuck where we are, where we are, where we are
Hang your pain over your chest
Like a ball and chain on a Kevlar vest
All the grace you don't think you need
Is all the grace you're gonna receive
Well, the light's on, baby, come and be my guest
I can see it in your eyes, there's no need to confess
All the love I know that you need
Is all the love I'm willing to bleed for you
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh
If it feels like forever ago, that's because it was
