Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! (CYHSY) è un gruppo indie rock statunitense formatosi a New York nel 2004. Il loro successo è legato al fenomeno del hype musicale online: sono stati uno dei primi gruppi a beneficiare dell'attenzione dei blog musicali, che hanno portato l'attenzione di riviste come Pitchfork Media. La recensione positiva del loro album d'esordio omonimo ha causato problemi di distribuzione, dato che il gruppo non aveva un contratto discografico. Hanno quindi gestito autonomamente la produzione e la distribuzione dell'album, rifiutando diverse offerte per mantenere il controllo creativo. Per il mercato britannico, hanno firmato con Wichita Recordings, trovando più semplice gestire le spedizioni nel Regno Unito. L'album d'esordio ha venduto oltre 200.000 copie.
