Porcupine Tree è un gruppo musicale britannico fondato a Londra alla fine degli anni '80 da Steven Wilson. Inizialmente un progetto solista, si trasformò in una band completa negli anni '90. Il loro sound, definito rock progressivo con influenze psichedeliche e ambient, ha attraversato diverse fasi evolutive, passando da atmosfere più sperimentali e noise rock a sonorità più melodiche e pop-rock. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Shesmovedon", "Halo", "In Absentia" e "The Sky Moves Sideways". Tra gli album di maggior successo ricordiamo "In Absentia" (2002), "Deadwing" (2005) e "Fear of a Blank Planet" (2007). Porcupine Tree ha collaborato con artisti come Richard Barbieri, Colin Edwin e Gavin Harrison. Steven Wilson è anche un noto produttore musicale e artista solista.
