Kayak è un gruppo musicale progressive rock olandese formatosi nel 1972 da Ton Scherpenzeel e Pim Koopman. Nel 1973 uscì il loro album di debutto "See See The Sun", che includeva 3 singoli di successo. Contro la loro volontà, furono immediatamente dichiarati «la nuova superband olandese» dalla stampa. La loro popolarità principale si concentrò nei Paesi Bassi, con il loro singolo più famoso (Ruthless Queen) che raggiunse il sesto posto nella classifica olandese a marzo 1979. Il gruppo si sciolse nel 1982 dopo aver pubblicato nove album. Tra i brani più rappresentativi: "See See The Sun", "Ruthless Queen", "Merlin".
