The Jam sono una leggendaria band punk rock britannica formatasi nel 1976 a Woking, Surrey, grazie all'iniziativa del poliedrico Paul Weller. Influenzati da artisti come The Beatles, The Kinks e The Who, hanno saputo coniugare sonorità melodiche con un ritmo deciso e una carica punk che li ha resi uno dei gruppi più importanti della scena musicale britannica degli anni '70 e '80. La formazione originale, composta da Weller (chitarra, voce), Bruce Foxton (basso) e Rick Buckler (batteria), è rimasta costante durante i sei anni di attività del gruppo. I The Jam hanno pubblicato sette album in studio, tra cui il loro capolavoro "Sound Affects" (1980), che ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche britanniche. I brani più rappresentativi includono "Going Underground", "Town Called Malice", "The Eton Rifles" e "Start!" .
