Edge of Sanity ist eine schwedische Band aus dem Genre Progressive Death Metal. Sie war von 1989 bis 2004 aktiv und fand sich 2016 wieder zusammen. Die Gruppe veröffentlichte sieben Studioalben, die Elemente des Death Metals mit progressiven, jazzigen und sogar elektronischen Einflüssen kombinieren. Der komplexe und experimentelle Sound von Edge of Sanity wurde stark von Bands wie Dream Theater und Opeth beeinflusst. Der Frontmann und Hauptkomponist ist Dan Swanö, der auch für seine Soloarbeit und andere musikalische Projekte bekannt ist. Zu den bekanntesten Songs gehören "The Unseen", "Crimson" und "In the Name of God". Ihr Debütalbum "Within Creation" (1992) gilt als Klassiker des Progressive Death Metal, während "Infernal" (1996) die Bekanntheit der Band festigte.
