The Brothers Four sono un gruppo folk americano formatosi nel 1957 a Seattle, Washington. Bob Flick, John Paine, Mike Kirkland e Dick Foley si sono incontrati all'Università di Washington, dove erano membri della fraternità Phi Gamma Delta nel 1956 (da cui il soprannome "Brothers"). Le loro prime performance professionali furono il risultato di uno scherzo giocato loro nel 1958 da una fraternità rivale, che aveva organizzato qualcuno per telefonare a loro, fingendo di essere del Colony Club di Seattle, e invitarli ad andare al club per un'audizione. Anche se non erano previsti all'interno del club, furono comunque lasciati cantare alcune canzoni e in seguito assunti. Flick ricorda di essere stato pagato "per lo più con la birra". Il gruppo ha raggiunto il successo nazionale negli anni '60 con brani come "Greenfields", "The Sound of Silence" e "Try to Remember".
