Phantom Planet ist eine amerikanische Rockband aus Kalifornien. Die Band besteht aus Alex Greenwald (Gesang und Rhythmusgitarre), Darren Robinson (Lead-Gitarre), Sam Farrar (Bass) und Jeff Conrad (Schlagzeug). Bekannt wurde die Band durch den Song "California", der zum Thema der Fernsehserie "The O.C." wurde. Obwohl Phantom Planet oft als die Band erwähnt wird, die den Schauspieler Jason Schwartzman am Schlagzeug hatte, setzt sie ihre Arbeit ohne ihn fort und hat mehrere gut aufgenommene Alben veröffentlicht.
