Hirax è una band di thrash metal americana proveniente da Cypress, in California. Formatasi nel 1982 sotto la guida del vocalist Katon W. De Pena (il personaggio più distintivo della band e l'unico membro originale ancora presente nella formazione attuale), la band ha suonato a Los Angeles e San Francisco con altre nuove band di thrash metal dell'epoca come Metallica, Exodus e Slayer.
