Firewind ist eine griechische Power-Metal-Band, die 1998 vom Gitarristen Gus G. gegründet wurde, um sein Demoalbum *Nocturnal Symphony* zu vermarkten. Drei Jahre später entwickelten sie sich zu einer vollständigen Band mit der Aufnahme des Albums *Between Heaven and Hell*. Im Laufe der Jahre erlebte die Band mehrere Veränderungen in ihrer Besetzung, bis sich nach ihrem fünften Album, *Allegiance*, die aktuelle Formation etablierte, angeführt vom Sänger Apollo Papathanasio. Mit dieser Besetzung haben sie zwei Alben aufgenommen: *The Premonition* und *Immortals*. Firewind gilt als eine der wichtigsten Bands der europäischen Power-Metal-Szene und wird für ihre kraftvolle, melodische und technische Musik geschätzt.
