Mago de Oz ist eine spanische Heavy-Metal- und Folk-Metal-Band, die Mitte der 1980er Jahre gegründet wurde. Der Name der Band, was „Zauberer von Oz“ mit einem schweren Umlaut bedeutet, wurde vom Gründer Txus als Metapher für das Leben gewählt: «Das Leben ist ein gelber Pflasterweg, auf dem wir in Gesellschaft anderer gehen und nach unseren Träumen suchen». Die Band erreichte großen Erfolg in Spanien und wurde 1995 zur „Revolution Rock Band“ gekürt. 1996 veröffentlichten sie ihr erstes Rock-Opern-Album „Jes and #250;s de Chamberi“, produziert von Alberto Plaza und Mago de Oz. Das Album war ein kritischer und kommerzieller Erfolg und festigte die Position der Band als eine der wichtigsten Bands der spanischen Musikszene. Mago de Oz ist bekannt für den keltischen Einfluss in seiner Musik, der durch die Verwendung von Geige und Flöte verstärkt wird. Zu den bekanntesten Songs gehören „La Leyenda del Hombre Lobo“, „El Rey del Mundo“ und „Cuando el Sol se Ponga“.
