Kataklysm è una band canadese di death metal attiva dal 1991. Considerati pionieri del genere "northern hyperblast", termine coniato in seguito a un annuncio su M.E.A.T. magazine che descriveva Fear Factory come "hyperblast". Questo termine si riferisce alle veloci e intricate blast beats tipiche del batterista Max Duhamel, che vengono integrate alla musica della band.
