Cryptopsy è una band canadese di death metal tecnico proveniente da Montréal, Québec. Formatasi nel 1988, il gruppo ha venduto oltre 300.000 dischi. Considerati pionieri del genere, Cryptopsy sono noti per la loro velocità estrema, riff intricati e testi oscuri e grotteschi. Tra i membri fondatori figuravano il chitarrista Erik Langlois e il batterista Flo Mounier, quest'ultimo noto per la sua tecnica di drumming altamente complessa e innovativa. Nel corso degli anni, Cryptopsy ha pubblicato una serie di album di successo, tra cui "None Shall Pass" (1996), "Blasphemy Made Flesh" (1998) e "The Cold Hate" (2001).
