Nanci Caroline Griffith (1953-2021) è stata una cantautrice e chitarrista americana, considerata una delle figure più influenti della musica folk americana degli anni '80 e '90. Originaria del Texas, Griffith ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '70 suonando in locali di Austin. Il suo stile, caratterizzato da testi poetici e melodie evocative, ha saputo mescolare elementi di folk, country e blues, influenzando generazioni di cantautori. Tra i suoi album più importanti ricordiamo "Once in a Lifetime" (1987), che le ha valso il Grammy Award per la migliore performance vocale femminile country, e "Storysongs" (1993).
