I Kinks sono un gruppo rock britannico formatosi a Londra nel 1963 e attivo fino al 1996. Considerati uno dei gruppi più influenti della British Invasion, hanno lasciato un'impronta indelebile sulla musica rock con il loro sound caratteristico che mescolava melodie pop orecchiabili a testi introspettivi e spesso satirici. La formazione originale comprendeva Ray Davies (voce, chitarra), Dave Davies (chitarra), Mick Avory (batteria) e Pete Quaife (basso). Quest'ultimo fu sostituito da John Dalton nel 1966 e poi definitivamente nel 1969.
