Green Carnation è una band norvegese proveniente da Kristiansand, formatasi nel 1990. Il gruppo si distingue per la sua musica che spazia tra progressive rock e progressive metal, con influenze di art rock. L'evoluzione musicale di Green Carnation ha visto un progressivo allontanamento dal heavy metal: dalle origini in death metal e doom metal/progressive metal, sono arrivati ad un sound hard rock con elementi di progressive rock.
