Primus ist eine amerikanische experimentelle Rockband, die 1984 in San Francisco gegründet wurde. Bekannt für ihren einzigartigen und oft schwer zu kategorisierenden Sound, der als Thrash Funk, Funk Metal oder sogar psychedelische Polka (ein Begriff, der vom Gründungsmitglied Les Claypool geprägt wurde) beschrieben wurde, hat Primus sich eine treue Fangemeinde durch seine originelle Musik und den Charisma des Frontmanns erarbeitet.
