Biografia

Marillion è un gruppo musicale britannico di rock progressivo formatosi ad Aylesbury nel 1977. La formazione originale comprendeva Steve Hogarth (voce), Mark Kelly (tastiere), Pete Trewavas (basso) e Ian Mosley (batteria). Il loro sound, caratterizzato da melodie intricate, testi poetici e un'atmosfera spesso malinconica, ha conquistato un seguito fedele nel corso degli anni. Dopo il successo del primo album, *Script for a Jester's Tear* (1983), la band ha attraversato diverse fasi di evoluzione, con cambiamenti nella formazione e sperimentazioni musicali. Il loro periodo più popolare è stato negli anni '80, con album come *Fugazi* (1984) e *Misplaced Childhood* (1985). Negli anni '90, Marillion ha continuato a registrare e esibirsi, mantenendo un forte legame con i fan. Steve Hogarth è diventato il frontman principale nel 1989, portando la band verso una nuova era musicale. Alcuni dei loro brani più rappresentativi sono *Kayleigh*, *Incommunicado* e *The Leavers*. Marillion rimane oggi una delle band progressive più influenti e amate al mondo.
