The Go-Betweens sono stati un gruppo rock indie formatosi a Brisbane, Australia, nel 1977 dai cantautori e chitarristi Robert Forster e Grant McLennan. Nel corso degli anni hanno collaborato con musicisti come Lindy Morrison (batteria), Robert Vickers (basso) e Amanda Brown (violino, oboe, chitarra e cori). Dopo una prima fase di attività che si è conclusa alla fine del 1989, Forster e McLennan hanno riunito il gruppo nel 2000 con una nuova formazione. La morte di McLennan per un attacco cardiaco nel 2006 ha portato allo scioglimento definitivo dei The Go-Betweens. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e influenze provenienti dal post-punk e dalla musica folk australiana.
