John Winston Lennon (Liverpool, 9 ottobre 1940 ? New York, 8 dicembre 1980) è stato un chitarrista, compositore e cantante inglese. Dal 1962 al 1970 è stato compositore e cantante (solista) del gruppo musicale dei Beatles, dei quali, in coppia con Paul McCartney, ha composto anche la maggior parte delle canzoni. Con Paul McCartney ha formato una delle più importanti partnership musicali di successo della storia della musica del ventesimo secolo, scrivendo "alcune tra le canzoni più famose della storia del rock and roll". È il cantautore di maggior successo nella storia delle classifiche inglesi seguito da McCartney.
