Showbread ist eine amerikanische christliche Rockband aus Guyton, Georgia. Gegründet 1997, hat die Band seitdem zahlreiche Besetzungswechsel durchgemacht, behielt aber ihre beiden Gründungsmitglieder, Josh Dies und Patrick Porter, bei. Dies ist der Hauptkomponist und kreative Kopf hinter Showbread und sorgt so für eine stilistische Kontinuität trotz der wechselnden Besetzung. Bis 2007 hatte die Band zwei Leadsänger, darunter Ivory Mobley. Josh Dies ist außerdem Autor der Romane "The Spinal Cord Perception", "The Insect" und "Nevada". Showbread erlangte 2006 Aufmerksamkeit, als ein Fan-Video zum Song "Dead By Dawn" auf YouTube veröffentlicht wurde. Die Band sah sich das Video an und postete es auf ihrer Website, was zu Kontroversen über die lyrischen Themen von Showbread führte. Laut dem ehemaligen Gitarristen Matt Davis stammt der Name der Band aus "einer biblischen Referenz, die Jesus verwendete, um zu zeigen, dass Christentum nicht so sehr um Regeln geht, sondern um Liebe".
