Manfred Mann è un musicista e compositore tedesco-britannico, noto per essere il leader del gruppo rock omonimo attivo tra gli anni '60 e '70. Nato a Lublino, in Polonia, nel 1940, Manfred Mann si trasferì in Inghilterra con la sua famiglia durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Iniziò a suonare il pianoforte all'età di sei anni e studiò musica classica al Royal College of Music di Londra. Nel 1962 formò i Manfred Mann, un gruppo rock che ottenne grande successo negli anni '60 grazie a brani come "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", "Pretty Flamingo" e "Sha La La". Il gruppo si caratterizzava per una fusione di elementi blues, jazz e pop, con influenze del rhythm and blues americano. Nel 1970 il gruppo si sciolse e Manfred Mann continuò la sua carriera come musicista solista, pubblicando album di musica classica, jazz e rock progressivo. Nel corso della sua lunga carriera, Manfred Mann ha collaborato con numerosi artisti, tra cui Elton John, The Rolling Stones e Paul McCartney.
