David Gates è un cantautore e musicista statunitense, noto soprattutto come fondatore e voce principale del gruppo folk-rock Bread. Nato a Detroit nel 1940, Gates iniziò la sua carriera musicale negli anni '60, collaborando con artisti come The New Christy Minstrels.
