The Wolfgang Press waren eine englische Band, die in den 1980er und 1990er Jahren aktiv war. Obwohl viele Menschen an den meisten ihrer Aufnahmen beteiligt waren (insbesondere in späteren Jahren), bestand die Kernband aus Michael Allen (Gesang, Bass), Mark Cox (Keyboard) und Andrew Gray (Gitarre). Die Band nahm für das Label 4AD auf. Sowohl Allen als auch Cox waren Mitglieder von Rema-Rema und Mass gewesen, während Gray Mitglied von In Camera war. Alle diese Bands hatten auch bei 4AD aufgenommen. Die Gruppe erreichte mit "A Girl Like You" im Jahr 1992 Platz 2 der Modern Rock Charts in den USA, was auch ihr größter internationaler Hit wurde.
