Peter Joseph Andrew Hammill (nato il 19 agosto 1948) è un cantautore, tastierista e polistrumentista britannico, noto soprattutto per essere stato il frontman dei Van der Graaf Generator e per la sua prolifica carriera solista. Hammill ha iniziato a suonare musica all'età di sette anni, influenzato da artisti come Bob Dylan e The Beatles. Nel 1967 formò i Van der Graaf Generator, band prog rock che raggiunse un grande successo negli anni '70 con album come "Pawn Hearts" (1972) e "Godbluff" (1970).
