Rilo Kiley è stato un gruppo musicale indie rock formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1998. Il nucleo del gruppo era composto da Jenny Lewis (voce, chitarra), Blake Sennett (chitarra, voce) e Pierre de Reeder (basso). Dopo l'uscita di alcuni EP indipendenti, hanno firmato con la Barsuk Records nel 2001, pubblicando il loro album di debutto "The Initial Joy of Living".
