Aqua è un gruppo danese di Euro-pop dance formatosi negli anni '90. Noto per il successo planetario del singolo "Barbie Girl", estratto dall'album di debutto Aquarium (1997), il gruppo ha pubblicato un secondo album, Aquarius (2000), prima di sciogliersi nel 2001 a causa di contrasti interni. La rottura è stata causata dal rapporto sentimentale tra la cantante Lene Nystrøm e il chitarrista e compositore Søren Rasted, che ha generato gelosie con il fondatore del gruppo René Dif. Nystrøm e Rasted sono ora sposati e hanno due figli. Nel 2007 Aqua si è riunito per pubblicare un album di compilation con nuove tracce e intraprendere un tour mondiale nel 2008.
