Shpongle è un progetto musicale downtempo/ambient psichedelico trance (o Psybient) proveniente dal Regno Unito. I membri principali sono Simon Posford (conosciuto anche come Hallucinogen) e Raja Ram (un terzo del progetto The Infinity Project), ma collaborano spesso con altri artisti. Il loro sound incorpora campioni di strumenti etnici orientali e musica psichedelica contemporanea occidentale basata su sintetizzatori. Posford si occupa dei synth e del lavoro in studio, mentre Raja Ram contribuisce con arrangiamenti per flauto. Il progetto è stato fondato nel 1996 dopo che la coppia ha assistito a un'eclissi solare in India. I due sono entrati in studio per tentare di replicare l'esperienza in forma sonora e il risultato è stato un brano di 20 minuti, «...And the Day Turned to Night», presente nell'album di debutto di Shpongle «Are You Shpongled?» e nella compilation Twisted «Eclipse - A Journey Of Permanence and Impermanence». Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano «Divine Moments of Truth», «The Inevitable», «Aum Shanti Om» e «When the Sun Sleeps».
