Irving Berlin, pseudonimo di Izrail' Moiseevic Bejlin (1888-1989), è stato uno dei compositori americani più influenti del XX secolo. Nato a Temesvár, in Romania, da una famiglia ebrea, si trasferì negli Stati Uniti all'età di 5 anni. Iniziò la sua carriera come cantante e pianista nei locali di New York, scrivendo le sue prime canzoni mentre lavorava come cameriere.
